Adhik and Paakhi's track is highlighting a major issue of domestic violence. It is quite a sensitive topic. When you came to know about this track, what were your thoughts?

When I came to know about my upcoming track with Pakhi that I was a domestic abuser in the show, I felt so responsible to portray that because I would really want people who are connected with the show Anupamaa to be aware of this cruelty. It is very important to spread this awareness among people so that this can be stopped as soon as possible.

There were many heart-wrenching scenes between you and Paakhi. Adhik is literally shown as a two-faced person. How challenging was it to perform this?

I mean obviously it was really challenging for me to play a double-faced person but you know me being an actor and having an experience of the theatre made it a little easy to not be scared and be full of confidence while performing those scenes.

Fans often tend to take on-screen characters of their favourite actors too seriously. Do you feel that is happening to you at this point in time?

Absolutely, I would agree to this and I have been targeted by people on my social media. I accept that because people are actually very connected to the show they feel that their lives are also connected somehow to what we are showing on the screens. I would really want people to be connected like this. It’s okay if they don’t understand that. At the end of the day, I am just an actor and it is all just a part which we’re playing. Some people do understand this and I’m really lucky that I have such an audience as well.
