MUMBAI: MasterChef India is the number one cooking reality show in India, and the audience loves watching it as various people from around the country participate and showcase their cooking talent.

Last time, the show aired on a new channel - Sony Television and the last season was very successful.

The show was judged by Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar and Garima Arora and Nayanjyoti emerged as the winner of the show.

The new season has begun on Sonyliv and the audience has given it thumbs up and the contestants are quite talented.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the judges of the show and asked them about how important is the backstory of contestants and knew they would be seen in the show.

Except for Pooja what is the new thing that one would get to see in the show?

Pooja is the new factor in the show and there are so many contestants and college going students who go to college to study cooking because of her as they are inspired by her journey and everyone wants to be here. There are a lot of new things to the show. She brings a freshness to the show.

Like other reality shows even this reality show the contestants back story is shown do you think it works for the show?

This is very important. If you don’t know someone then how would you know their food, so eventually then it's only a face making food on tv, but with the story we come to know the story and their thoughts where it comes from and then how would you know how they cook  like that. I think we should show more human stories as you can’t separate them from their culture and home and food defines you, it defines you from where you come.

When someone wins in the show how does it help them in the cooking world?

Past seasons especially the top 6 contestants have become popular people in the world. Either they have written books, become influencers and they have restaurants, cafes or they have cooking classes. The show gives them confidence where no other place they would get and get their belief that they would do something with cooking.

Well, this season the contestants look promising and the talent is really good and it's going to be difficult for the judges to judge.
