MUMBAI: Anupamaa is presently ruling our television screens. The show is doing exceptionally well and is topping the weekly BARC ratings. Rupali Ganguly plays the lead role while Gaurav Khanna plays the role of her husband Anuj.

The show seems to be about to take a quick five-year-jump. Malti Devi intends to take Anupama's place in the Kapadia family in order to fulfill her desire to be the matriarch of the family.
Anuj will be seen leaving for the United States and establishing his own company in an effort to avoid Anupama after their split.
Subsequently, there were rumors that Anupama was going to move to the United States and gain her independence.
