MUMBAI: There are rumors that Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda may soon be married. Rashmika and Vijay, who originally collaborated on Geetha Govindam, are rumored to be getting engaged in February. On Tuesday, though, their representatives said that these allegations are untrue.
Although fans are still keeping a watch on the rumors, Rashmika has previously been at the center of wedding rumors. Rashmika was formerly engaged to well-known Kannada actor Rakshit Shetty, for those who may not know. However, the engagement was called off.
Over the years, Rashmika has opted not to discuss the cause behind their breakup with the media, leaving it a mystery. On an occasion in 2019, a reporter attempted to find out about the failed engagement, but Vijay Deverakonda quickly cut off the subject. According to the popular news portal, Vijay and Rashmika were promoting their movie Dear Comrade, a reporter brought up Rakshit and inquired about her background.
Vijay knocked down the question with a quick response. “I don’t even know your question…but it is no one’s business. Like I am giving an answer. I don’t even understand the question…how is it anyone’s business,” he said.
After starring in Kirik Party alongside Rakshit Shetty, Rashmika became engaged to him soon after. The images from their 2017 engagement had garnered media attention. However, the engagement was called off in 2018. Rakshit said last year that he is still in contact with Rashmika and talked candidly about her.
Rakshit stated during "Sapta Sagardaache Ello: Side A" promotion, “Yes, Rashmika and I are still in touch. She had a big dream in the world of cinema. Accordingly, she is moving towards that dream. She has the will to achieve the task she set out to do. We should pat her on the back for her achievement.”
