Rana Daggubati said during a roundtable discussion that his fame had fallen since the release of Rana Naidu. He explained his decision to join the web series, saying that he has always been interested in addressing taboo topics in society through mainstream storytelling.
“I was always interested in topics that are taboo to society that you can tell in a very mainstream form. Because at some point, we try to tell it in cinema and it becomes very arthouse, it becomes a sub-genre in some ways. But this had child abuse in a gangster drama set inside of a family. To me, that was very interesting. It’s family drama that everyone gets. It has topics that you don’t want to talk about or spoken very boldly and harshly so that was the first reason I got onto it,” he had said.
Although viewers praised Rana Naidu's first season, its explicit language and intimate moments generated criticism. Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh are back in the spotlight as filming for the second season of Rana Naidu gets underway. The fascinating Netflix series follows Rana, called the 'fixer of the stars,' as he resolves intricate situations involving well-known people.
When his father was released from prison in season one, Rana became caught in chaos. In the meantime, the producers are doing everything in their power to guarantee the success of the upcoming season, and the original cast impressed spectators with their performance.
With a significant part, Dino Morea has joined the cast to heighten the excitement. The Raaz actor is reportedly playing a police officer, and there have been claims in the media that filming for his role has already started.
Karan Anshuman and Suparn Varma are the directors of Rana Naidu, which is an official remake of the American drama series Ray Donovan. The cast also features Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra, and Surveen Chawla in addition to Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati, and Dino Morea.
