MUMBAI: The excitement related to Janhvi Kapoor's next offering Mr and Mrs Mahi with Rajkummar Rao is building up. The film is being produced by Zee Studios, Dharma Productions and has been directed by Sharan Sharma. The plot of the film revolves around cricket with a romantic peg. Rajkummar essays Mahendra (Mahi) while Mahima plays Mahi. Mahendra is shown as an ex-cricketer who motivates Mahima to complete her dream of being a cricketer.
During an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar Janhvi was asked about her filmography after Dhadak, Roohi, Gunjan, Goodluck Jerry, Mili and now Mr and Mrs Mahi; how they have been socially relevant and impactful. She was also asked there are many female actors whose filmography is of this sort. However, if we go to the time of Sridevi Ji, Rekha; when they did female-oriented films then we could see Nagina, ChaalBaaz, Khoon Bharri Mang. What has changed? Now female actors are not doing masala kind but heroic films.
Janhvi replied by saying, "Mumma also did Sadma. Rekha ma'am also did Ijaazat, Khubsurat. Nutan ma'am nei etne saari filmei ki hai jinme etna wajan tha.. bus entertainment ke liye nai tha also Waheeda ma'ams Khamoshi. I think these entertaining films that I would love to do now woh kum hoh gayi hai. I wish we had the opportunity to do like fun, commercial female-oriented films as well that people would show up at the theatres".
Well talking about the actress her upcoming projects also include Ulajh, Devara along with Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan.
