MUMBAI : Monsoons have made its arrival in Mumbai- the city of dreams which is also the base of Hindi cinema. Rains have always formed an important part of movies and here are some films for the rainy season which was loved for the rain-related sequences, songs and stunning visuals.
Wake Up Sid
In Ranbir Kapoor-Konkona SenSharma's film, Marine Drive looks so beautiful. The closing sequence of the film does wonders when Sid just realises that Ayesha has fallen in love with him, post he reads her story in the newspaper. He meets her at Marine Drive, the duo gets wet in the rain while Iktara plays in the background. The feeling of love and comfort makes one feel at home.
Tip Tip Barsa Pani
Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar romancing in Mohra song Tip Tip Barsa Pani in the rain will make anyone go wild. The passion of romance that is between the duo made this track one of the most romantic songs of Hindi cinema.
Taal
The film has used monsoon in a very creative manner and the song Taal Se Taal Mila shows us Manav, Mansi and their epic love story.
Chameli
Kareena Kapoor Khan plays the role of a prostitute in Chameli who is stuck with a wealthy investment banker named Aman at a passage in the night. They seek shelter from Mumbai rains. Aman is shown to be depressed, who has not come to terms with his pregnant wife being no more while Chameli is seen as a happy girl. Rain acts as a flirty and adds seductiveness to the mood.
Jab We Met
In a typical Imtiaz Ali movie Geet and Aditya meet while being on a train. Aditya after a series of adventurous activities with Geet drops her home and then runs away to her lover Anshuman. Geet teaches Aditya to live live, while he remakes his business while thinking of Geet. He also imagines dancing with Geet in Tum Se Hi in the rain.
