MUMBAI: Mumbai, 19th June, 2024: PVRINOX Pictures will be releasing, The Exorcism, a chilling horror film starring Russell Crowe, Ryan Simpkins, Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, Adam Goldberg, and David Hyde Pierce and directed by Joshua John Miller, is all set to release on 21st June! The supremely talented Chloe Bailey, who has been the talk of the town since her solo debut album release In Pieces in 2023, turned out to be the perfect fit for the character of Blake in The Exorcism. The story follows Academy Award winner Russell Crowe, portraying a troubled actor Anthony Miller. When Miller and his daughter, Lee arrive on set to revive his career, they meet budding actor, Blake, trying to make her own mark in this film.

Talking about her venture into the world of horror, Chloe Bailey shared, “Blake Holloway is a young teenage star who comes from a very religious family. And she's currently trying really hard to find herself. And she's trying to branch out and do different things in different roles. And that's how she finds herself in "The Exorcism”.  Playing a role like Blake was a challenge that Chloe took head on and dived into the enigmatic world of The Exorcism. Talking about her run-ins with horror films she adds, “I have never ever watched a scary film in my life. I'm a huge scaredy cat.”

A typical horror film evokes a sense of fear and keeps audiences on the edge of their seat till the very end. The Exorcism, however, happens to be more than that. The cinematic structure and the unique storyline frighten viewers, giving them an experience that is beyond the boxes of reality. “We wanted the look of the movie to be engrossing, so we leaned into ‘master painting’ shots that would communicate the life and energy of a set”,  says director Joshua John Miller.

The movie, The Exorcism was first written by Joshua John Miller and M.A. Fortin in the year 2019. This terrifying tale breaks the stereotypical notions of a heroic man saving a helpless woman from evil, rather than focusing on conventionality that shows one focus group in any good light. The unsettling movie portrays the protagonist, Russell Crowe fighting his demons and trying to make his way out of darkness. Bailey’s character Blake, is a young girl hailing from a musical background. She carries a dream in her heart to be an actress and is showcased as being possessed in the film within the film.

The Exorcism, a tale that will keep you gripping and on the edge of your seat, is all set to come to audiences in India this summer season! Catch Russell Crowe fighting his demons in theatres near you, available in English on 21st June.
