Tabu opens up on her bond with Ajay Devgn; says, ‘It's a different relationship'

MUMBAI : With substantial, content-driven and commercial roles, Tabu and Ajay Devgn have advanced significantly in show business. Both fans and critics adore their on-screen duo, and now they are all set to star in the unique romantic comedy "Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha." In a recent interview, the actress discussed her relationship with Ajay Devgn and disclosed that the actor had always desired to direct rather than perform.

The Crew actress said, “He was like this only. He has not changed a lot except that he got married and he has children now. He was always very passionate about cinema. He wanted to be a director. He never wanted to be an actor. He used to make these short films. So I remember him like that. So I think the ease and the comfort I have with him is because I’ve known him much before we both got into acting. That is the basis of our relationship.”

Tabu further said, “I have known Ajay since we were like 12 or 13. He is my brother’s childhood friend. So we kind of grew up together. I don’t know him through films. I think that’s why the equation is different. I don’t have this equation with most of the male co-stars that I’ve worked with except him. Because I know him from a different time, it’s a different relationship.”

She concluded, “I think because of his personality, he does not demand you to be somebody else. So that’s a very good quality that he has. In particular, I think, with me, he is completely unconditional. He is completely indulgent and he never stops working with me. Like, I know that many times it happens that whenever I have issues with a producer or a filmmaker or whatever, they will call Ajay and say, ‘You talk to her. She is not shooting or promoting the film.’But the one thing I must acknowledge about him is that he never ever tries to come in the way of my decisions or tries to influence me. He respects my space.”
