MUMBAI: Aditya Sarpotdar's season is here. His horror-comedy Munjya last month was a big office success. He showcased another movie in a similar category on OTT last week: Kakuda. Moreover, it has now surfaced that he has already begun work on his next project, which features Rajeev Khandelwal.

The lovely actor revealed that he had secured the web series from the talented director, which would premiere on Disney+ Hotstar, in an interview with the well-known news portal. Currently, without a title, it is a Marathi-written adaptation called "Pratipashchandra."

In this interview, Rajeev Khandelwal expressed how thrilled he was to collaborate with Aditya Sarpotdar. “There are people who want to bring another side to you [on screen]. Aditya is one of them. In this series, he will perform more than us because it’s all about storytelling. I keep telling him, ‘You had Munjya and Kakuda. Now, make this as big as Munjya’.”

In another interview with the popular news portal in June, Rajeev Khandelwal shared more details on the show, “It's a very interesting series. The closest parallel I can think of is Indiana Jones.”

Written by Dr Prakash Suryakant Koyade, ‘Pratipashchandra’ is described as the ‘first Shivaji-era historical mystery novel’. It’s about a secret that was meticulously hidden by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his intelligence chief Bahirji Naik. This profound secret is guarded even today by eight bodyguards of the great king. The book’s description further states that it ‘connects the fourteenth century, seventeenth century, and twenty-first century’.

Rajeev Khandelwal most recently starred in the quirky web series Showtime, which is inspired by the movie industry. The show debuted on Disney+ Hotstar as well, starring the actor as conceited celebrity Armaan Singh.

Speaking of Aditya Sarpotdar's most recent productions, Abhay Verma and Sharvari featured in Munjya. It is related to Bhediya and Stree because it is a component of the Maddock Cinematic Universe. In the Zee 5 film Kakuda, Riteish Deshmukh, Sonakshi Sinha, and Saqib Saleem released.
