MUMBAI: Salman Khan is among the most admired Indian actors who enjoys a massive fan-following. The actor, in his 35 year film journey has made some of the country's most loved films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, Hum Aapke Hai Kaun and many others. He has been in the news as two men were captured on CCTV footage firing with guns outside his Mumbai residence in Bandra on 14th April.

The Mumbai crime branch has arrested six persons so far; Vickykumar Gupta, Sagarkumar Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Anujkumar Thapan, Mohd Rafiq Choudhary and Harpal Singh.

One of the suspects, Thapan, passed away while in police custody, reportedly after committing suicide. Earlier this month, the Mumbai police had filed a chargesheet against the remaining five defendants.

On Monday, the public prosecutor Jaysing Desai went before the court to present the case for the first time.

In the chargesheet, Salman gave his statement saying, “I heard a cracker-like sound. Then, at around 4.55 am, the police bodyguard said that two people on a bike had fired from a weapon at the Galaxy Apartment's first floor balcony. There had been attempts to hurt me and my family prior to this as well. I have learnt that Lawrence Bishnoi has taken responsibility for the attack from social media. So, I believe that it is the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who carried out the firing on my balcony.”

Some startling information has been made public by the chargesheet in Salman's notorious house firing case. It was disclosed earlier this month that Bishnoi's group had put up a Rs 25 lakh bounty to kill the actor and that he intended to carry out the assassination in a "Sidhu Moosewala style." Over a period of several months, from August 2023 to April 2024, the had plotted the strike.

They allegedly also intended to import weaponry and weapons from Pakistan, such as M16 rifles, AK-47s, AK-92s, and the Turkish-made Zigana handgun, which was used to murder Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.
