MUMBAI :  This day thirty years ago saw the premiere of Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994), one of the best movies ever made in Indian cinema. It's well known that the business referred to the movie as a "wedding video" during its pre-release trial. On the other hand, the public embraced the movie and how. Along from permanently altering Bollywood, it also helped Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Renuka Shahane, Mohnish Bahl, and director Sooraj Barjatya in their careers. But that's not all. The movie also helped a lot of other people, such movie theaters and even black ticket vendors.

During a celebration of Hum Aapke Hain Koun's 30th anniversary, the film's crew revealed a number of interesting anecdotes. The famous Liberty theater in Mumbai, where the family entertainer was first shown in 1994, served as the venue for both the celebration and the movie showing. Liberty's infrastructure was falling apart at the time, and it was showing B-grade movies. There was no adequate restroom for women because the family audiences had stopped attending!

The tide turned in favor of Liberty because of Hum Aapke Hain Koun's unprecedented success. People came down from the far suburbs to see the movie at this theater. During the anniversary screening, producer Kamal Kumar Barjatya admitted that Liberty's current booking window didn't open for a full year, which meant that every show—even the weekday ones—was sold out well in advance!

Sooraj Barjatya went on to say that even the black ticket vendors were profitable. As he related how a black ticket seller was able to purchase two apartments by selling movie tickets in black, he made people chuckle.

Liberty started to play a significant role in Hum Aapke Hain Koun's success. As a result, the film's crew was kind enough to honor the memory of Nazir Hoosein, who departed on May 12, 2019, along with the other members of the crew. Among them were Rajkumar Barjatya, Jay Borade, Laxmikant Berde, Reema Lagoo, Ajit Vachani, and Rajat A. Barjatya.
