MUMBAI: As the audience of Hindi cinema kept evolving with time, so did the Hindi movies with their storylines, actors and topics. Since the time Hindi cinema got established, we have seen some amazing genres like Action, thriller, comedy and suspense. Surely Hindi movie directors have tapped into these genres really well and we got to watch movies like Hera Pheri, Amar Akbar Anthony, Teesri Manzil, International Khiladi, Coolie No 1 and many more. Yes we have watched and re-watched these movies and they have never failed to entertainment.

Previously, we talked about sub-genres that needs to be introduced to the Hindi movie audience and among these sub-genres, one category was Animal Attack Horror movies. Surely we don’t have many movies to give us a good idea about the genre but we have watched English movies like Jaws, Anaconda and The Bird that have really terrified us and at the same time entertained.
While we are still not introduced to this sub-genre, there are however, some really entertaining movies where animals were the center of attraction and played a pivotal part throughout the movie.

Haathi Mere Saathi

Teri Meherbaniyan

Aankhen

Hum Aapke Hain Koun
Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, this 1994 movie starred Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Renuka Shahane, Mohnish Bahl, Anupam Kher and many more while there was also a dog that played a pivotal part.
Entertainment
Directed by Farhad Samji and Sajid Khan, this 2014 movie starred Akshay Kumar, Krushna Abhishek, Taannaah Bhatia, Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj and featured a dog that played a pivotal part.
Dil Dhadakne Do
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, this 2015 movie starred Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Farhan Akhtar and Rohul Bose and featured a dog that played a pivotal part. Interestingly, the dog became a narrator of the story here and it was Aamir Khan who lent his voice for the dog.
Junglee
Directed by Russell Chuck, this 2019 movie starred Vidyut Jamwal, Asha Bhat, Pooja Sawant, Atul Kulkarni and Akshay Oberoi and featured an Elephant that played a pivotal part.
