MUMBAI : Star Plus’s show Dil Ko Tumse Pyaar Hua is a remake of the popular Bengali daily soap Anurager Chhowa. The show stars Akkshith Sukhija, Aditi Tripathi, and Urvashi Pardeshi in the leading roles. The show centers around how Deepika faces mistreatment from her stepmother and stepsister; her life changes after she meets a young doctor who wishes to marry her. It is set against the backdrop of Rajasthan. It is a tale of Deepika and Chirag and what unfolds in the lives of Deepika and Chirag, who fall in love.
Deepika's father does the Kanyadaan during Deepika and Chirag's traditional wedding and makes a heartfelt promise to ensure his daughter will be happy.
Lavanya breaks off all contact with Chirag because she cannot accept her son's marriage to Deepika because of her darker complexion.
She wants him to leave the family home and destroy his belongings in a fit of rage. Deepika gets called "characterless" by Lavanya, but Chirag defends his wife and says he respects her just as much as he does his mother.
Lavanya disowns him when Chirag chooses his wife, forcing him to choose between his family and Deepika.
After that, the couple chooses to move into a guest home and start again. Chirag and Deepika will face new challenges following their move to the outhouse.
They find the place in disrepair after their entry but Deepika organizes and cleans it so that they can live there. When Lavanya turns off the outhouse's electricity, their issues still persist.
