MUMBAI: After the tragic death of stepfather Anil Mehta, actresses Malaika and Amrita Arora, have been shattered. He leaped off the sixth storey of his apartment building in Bandra West at approximately 10.30 a.m., according to Mumbai Police. His postmortem took place on Wednesday at Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle West at 8:00 p.m.

A moving video that shows Joyce Polycarp, Malaika's mother, getting ready to attend Anil Mehta's last rituals, has surfaced online. Joyce is seen in the video crying as she leaves for the crematorium, accompanied by her grandson Arhaan Khan and daughter Malaika. Malaika is seen giving Joyce comfort and support during this extremely sensitive period while Arhaan is seen helping his grandmother with her steps.

Malaika shared a heartbreaking post that read, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishes during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support and respect. With gratitude, Joyce, Malaika, Amrita, Shakeel, Arhaan, Azaan, Rayaan, Casper, AXL, Duffy and Buddy.”
