MUMBAI : Sudha Chandran is a talented dancer and an actor who has been a part of the entertainment industry for several years now.
She is known for playing some iconic roles in television shows.
Ramola Sikand from Kahinn Kissi Roz is one of the most memorable characters of the actress' career.
Fans still remember Sudha for this character and widely appreciate her for the performance.
She is also known for her role Yamini Singh in Naagin Season 1, 2, 3 and 6.
The actress is now gearing up for her new show Safal Hogi Aradhana which will be airing on Dangal TV.
The show’s plot is quite different as it revolves around surrogacy, a topic rarely seen on Indian television.
In a recent interaction with TellyChakkar, Sudha opened up on the show and surrogacy and much more.
Tell us about your role in this show.
My role is going to be classy in this show. I won't be scaring anyone with my grey shade. There will be a mental game in this character because she will mentally bring twists and turns through her character. This woman is very sharp. She may be emotional at times, very irritating, very spooky, she can also be very passionate at times. She can use love as a weapon to get things she wants. She has many shades and that's why I am very excited about it. She is very unpredictable.
And for a change, I am not Hero's mother but his sister in the show. She loves her brother and sister-in-law a lot. But she will reveal her game one after the other as the story takes interesting twists and turns. My character's name is Menaka.
Can you shed some light on how you are going to present this sensitive topic of surrogacy?
Surrogacy is a very sensitive topic. But you can't ignore this topic because it is normal today's normal. People are having kids through surrogacy and it's not that they are totally rejected. Now the time has come that we need to start accepting certain things. The more quickly we accept things, we will be happy sooner. Even if we are happy or not, this is going to continue. You can't stop it. It's better that we try to explain it to the audience about this in a very positive way so that there is nothing wrong with surrogacy. Then it is a personal decision. But the perspective should be changed. So many people's dreams are fulfilled because of surrogacy.
If I talk about myself, I don't have my own kids but if I would have thought about surrogacy, I would have had a 30 year-old child of mine.
How is the experience working with Karanvir and Barkha?
They are very cute. Karan is a lovely boy. He is childlike. Barkha is so professional. She gets ready on time and is always there on time for the shot. So, it's such a pleasure working with such people. I have never worked with Barkha nor with Karan. But this is one opportunity that when you do new shows, you meet new people and create new bonds. So, this is the new relationship that I am going to be building with them.
Safal Hogi Aradhana also stars Barkha Bisht, and Karanvir Sharma in pivotal roles.
