How did this role come to you, is there any interesting story behind it?
I had been auditioning for a while now for various serials and got this role through a casting agency where my auditions were selected. I got to know that I was shortlisted but it was still a long process after that wherein I was also called for mock shoots, costume rehearsals etc as Anupama is a big show thus it took some time.
What were your first thoughts before taking up this role?
I was super excited to be a part of Anupama. Also, my role as Pari was something very close to what I have seen in real life. And having to play such a character on-screen is really special for me. In most shows we see today that the lives of characters like Pari are not explored much. But Anupama and its feminist approach is something that gives meaning to characters and showcases what girls like us feel in society today and what we go through. It's really empowering to see such roles in the limelight.
Did you do any preparations for this role?
It was quite intimidating at first to work with such senior actors. But the team had been really supportive and helped me prepare for this role. Also our director has guided us well as to how to get into the skin of this character. Ironically, I started taking care of my skin and health as shoots require long hours and we as actors need to be prepared to give our best.
Lastly, Ishita also said, ''I am having a great time here. Rajan Shahi is an amazing producer and a very good human being.''
Well said, Ishita!
Ishita was previously seen in Star Plus' show Udne Ki Aasha which stars Kanwar Dhillon and Neha Harsora in the lead roles.
