MUMBAI: Karan Khandewal is impressing one and all with his amazing performance in Colors' show Apollena - Sapno Ki Unchi Udaan.
The actor is playing the role of Sanjay Singh who is a school-going student.
The show went on-air last year and the storyline is being loved by the viewers.
Apollena stars Aditi Sharma in the lead role who plays Apollena.
Well, Karan's character has seen great progress and he definitely has a long way to go.
In a recent interaction with TellyChakkar, Karan opened up on how he bagged the show and his bond with Aditi.

Sharing an interesting story behind bagging the show, Karan said, ''When this show came to me, I gave an audition in the beard look as I was told that the character is a college going student. I didn't know it was a school going character. When everything worked out and got finalized, it was confirmed to me that my character is a school going guy. I had around a month in hand before my shoot started. So I started preparing for the character, I started working out everyday consistently without any cheat days or off days. I ran 5 Kms every morning, I would go to the gym twice a day and workout rigorously, I started following a strict diet religiously and would take dance classes everyday. I have a muscular build so I worked on my frame and proportion and lost the muscle look. I lost around 9-10 kgs and got a leaner physique and shaved off my beard completely after a very long time. I tried my best to work on my physique so that I look convincing as my character of Sanjay Singh. And trust me every bit of this hard work was worth it and I am grateful to the audience who are showering me with so much love & praise.''
He added, ''The response I am getting is overwhelming especially when people say that no one could have played the character of Sanjay Singh better. I am just happy and thankful that I came across this role and I believed in myself and took the challenge.''
Lastly, talking about his bond with Aditi, Karan said, ''Aditi is a very sweet, hard working person, and of course is talented and ambitious. She takes her work very seriously and performs diligently. I enjoy working with her and I love our scenes together as she is a brilliant actor and is easy to work with and is absolutely professional.''
