MUMBAI: Veteran actress Seema Kapoor is all set to captivate audiences with her powerful portrayal of Maya Shukla in Colors TV’s latest offering, Ram Bhavan. Produced by Rahul Kumar Tewary and Rolling Tales Production, the show promises a blend of drama, emotions, and deep-rooted beliefs.
Speaking about her character, Seema Kapoor shares, "Maya Shukla is a self-made woman who has built an empire of her own. She wants to hand over her legacy to her only son, Dhruv, and his future wife. Therefore, she is meticulously searching for the right girl for her son." However, her quest is influenced by a key aspect of her life—her unshakable faith in astrology.
Kapoor elaborates, "She is an ardent believer in astrology and follows the verdicts of her Pandit to the hilt. Nothing can come in the way of her beliefs." This makes her journey intriguing, especially in a contemporary setting where traditional beliefs often clash with modern ideals.
The actress believes that audiences who resonate with the power of planetary positions will find Maya Shukla relatable. "Those who have faith in the planetary system and align their lives accordingly will definitely relate to her character. She is a very fair woman and stands by her convictions," she adds.
Kapoor also speaks about her own evolving beliefs in astrology. "All the characters in Ram Bhavan have a realistic approach. I, too, recently developed faith in the planetary system, and therefore, I prepared my character keeping all of it in mind."
Reuniting with Rahul Kumar Tewary was another driving force behind her decision to take up the role. "I have worked with Rahul Tiwary ji on a couple of shows before and find him to be a genuine producer who knows how to showcase high-quality content. When he approached me for this role, I accepted it solely because of my faith in him as a fine maker."
As Ram Bhavan sets out to enthrall audiences, Seema Kapoor extends her heartfelt wishes to the team. "My best wishes are with the entire team. I am sure the show will do extremely well, and I hope my character will be appreciated by the audience."
