MUMBAI: Saif Ali Khan suffered terrible injuries, including a knife wound that penetrated his spine, in a horrific and potentially fatal attack at his Mumbai residence on January 16, 2025. Saif's apparent speedy recovery from the near-fatal tragedy astonished many, but he has now spoken up about the horrific circumstances of that night and given the whole narrative of what transpired.

When Saif stayed at home to work while his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, went out to dinner, the otherwise tranquil evening became a nightmare. Unaware that their night was about to take a nasty turn, they spoke briefly after Kareena returned before going to bed.
Their housekeeper arrived in their room at around two in the morning to notify them that someone had broken into Jeh Ali Khan's room, demanding money and brandishing a knife.Saif faced the masked invader, who was carrying two knives, in the ensuing confusion. Saif was hurt while attempting to defend himself during the ensuing violent confrontation. The assailant was able to injure him, but Saif's housekeeper, Geeta, stepped in and shoved the invader away during the altercation.

Swiftly fleeing the altercation, Saif and Geeta locked themselves in a room. Saif was covered in blood and his right leg was numb, but he didn't realize the knife had punctured his spine. At the beginning, he believed he had been stabbed in the leg.
