"Rashmi was a perfect mix of modern sensibilities and deep-rooted values, much like me." – Kriti Sanon on Rashmi, as Luka Chuppi Completes 6 Years

MUMBAI: Kriti Sanon has always stood out for her fearless script choices. Right from her early days, she has balanced strong, unconventional roles— whether it was the fearless Bitti in Bareilly Ki Barfi, the ambitious Rashmi in Luka Chuppi, or the deeply emotional Mimi in Mimi. Even today, she continues to push boundaries with Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, The Crew, and Do Patti. Adding to the excitement, her upcoming project Tere Ishq Mein has already created massive buzz with its teaser, proving yet again why she remains one of the most versatile actresses of her generation.

On this day six years ago, Kriti delivered another memorable character—Rashmi Trivedi, a journalist in the social comedy Luka Chuppi. Reflecting on the film, Kriti shared how she felt deeply connected to Rashmi’s personality. The film, which starred Kartik Aaryan alongside her, revolved around live-in relationships and was directed by Laxman Utekar. "“Rashmi was a perfect mix of modern sensibilities and deep-rooted values, much like me. She was bold, independent, and impulsive, always making her own choices, yet she had a strong emotional core. Playing her was an absolute joy, and I was truly touched by the immense love she received.”Kriti said.

Interestingly, Luka Chuppi was Laxman Utekar’s first Hindi directorial venture, and today, he is enjoying massive success with Chhava. With Kriti evolving as a  performer and Laxman now an established filmmaker, it would be exciting to see them reunite for another remarkable project. Six years later, Luka Chuppi remains a fan favorite, with Kriti Sanon's Rashmi still resonating with audiences. As she continues to take on diverse and powerful roles.
