MUMBAI: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) returned to winning form in style on Monday, securing a thrilling 12-run victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in a high-scoring encounter at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. This marked RCB’s third win of the IPL 2025 season—all of which have come in away fixtures. Their only defeat so far was at home, against Gujarat Titans at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Despite the victory, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar found himself in hot water for his team’s slow over-rate. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) penalised Patidar with a fine of ₹12 lakh under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct, as it was the team’s first offence of the season related to minimum over-rate regulations.
Patidar, who also bagged the Player of the Match award for his explosive 64 off 32 balls, was quick to commend Krunal Pandya for his clutch performance in the final over. With Mumbai needing 19 runs off the last six balls, Krunal delivered a stunning spell—dismissing Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, and Naman Dhir—to seal the match for RCB. His final figures read 4/45, and the win marked RCB’s first victory at Wankhede against MI in a decade.
