MUMBAI: Popular singer and reality TV star Rahul Vaidya, who rose to fame with his impressive journey in Bigg Boss, has once again found himself in the spotlight this time for a controversy involving cricket icon Virat Kohli.
Rahul, who was one of the standout contestants in Bigg Boss and finished as the season’s first runner-up, won over audiences with his strong personality and emotional bond with fellow contestant Aly Goni.
While his clashes with Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla grabbed headlines, his loyalty and camaraderie with Aly earned him widespread appreciation.

After Bigg Boss, he further showcased his daring side in Khatron Ke Khiladi, performing intense stunts and overcoming personal fears. Since then, however, Rahul has taken a step back from television appearances.
Currently, he’s back in the buzz thanks to his participation in Laughter Chefs 2, where he’s paired with none other than Rubina Dilaik. Their unexpected pairing has sparked curiosity and delight among fans, adding a fresh dynamic to the show.
But amidst this professional resurgence, Rahul has landed in a storm of controversy after seemingly taking a swipe at Virat Kohli for liking a photo of actress Avneet Kaur on social media.
The comment, which quickly gained traction online, drew sharp criticism from Kohli’s fanbase. Many took offence, leading to a barrage of trolling and personal attacks not just aimed at Rahul, but also targeting his wife and sister.
Responding to the backlash, Rahul recently spoke to the media, offering clarity on the matter. He admitted the comment may have come across harsh but insisted it was not meant with malice.
Explaining his frustration, the singer said, “If you saw the kind of vile messages I’ve received from Virat’s fans, you’d be shocked. That’s why I referred to them as jokers.”
When questioned further on his intentions, Rahul revealed that the root of his anger lies in Virat Kohli’s unexplained decision to block him on social media.
“There’s no specific reason I made the comment just like there was no reason when he blocked me. If he had one, he should come out and say it,” he stated.
It seems Rahul’s remarks were born out of a long-standing desire to understand why he was blocked by the cricketer, a move that has clearly left him perplexed.
As the controversy unfolds, fans are divided—some standing by Rahul’s call for clarity, others defending Kohli’s privacy.
For now, all eyes remain on whether Virat Kohli will respond or continue to stay silent, while Rahul carries on with his latest stint on Laughter Chefs 2, drawing both attention and intrigue.
