MUMBAI: Staying true to its legacy of telling progressive and emotionally layered stories, Zee TV’s latest fiction offering, Tumm Se Tumm Tak, is already making waves with its bold and emotionally layered narrative. At the core of this unconventional love story lies a poignant bond between two individuals from vastly different worlds—Anu, a free-spirited 19-year-old from a modest background, and Aryavardhan, a 46-year-old self-made business tycoon known for his discipline, restraint, and emotional control. As their bond deepens, the story challenges societal expectations and questions long-held beliefs about age, love, and acceptance.
Brought to life by Niharika Chouksey and Sharad Kelkar, Anu and Aryavardhan’s characters are portrayed with depth, vulnerability, and emotional nuance. Adding a powerful layer to the narrative is the character of Jhende, played by veteran actor Nasirr Khan—Aryavardhan’s most trusted confidant and a long-time associate of the Vardhan Group. Jhende is a man of sharp intellect, unflinching loyalty, and deep secrets. He has stood beside Aryavardhan through every storm, holding many of his hidden truths. Fiercely protective, he doesn’t shy away from taking morally ambiguous decisions if it means safeguarding Aryavardhan at any cost. He is not entirely good or evil—his actions are complex and often questionable, but they all stem from a place of unwavering loyalty. It’s this moral greyness that makes him such a compelling character.
Nasirr Khan said, “Coming back to Zee TV has always been like a homecoming for me. Every actor waits for that one role that challenges, excites, and makes them want to return to the set with renewed passion—and for me, Tumm Se Tumm Tak was exactly that. The story is fresh, layered, and emotionally powerful. What drew me in most was the character of Jhende—he’s loyal, shrewd, and deeply complexed. He operates in a moral grey zone, doing whatever it takes to protect the person he’s devoted to even if it means making difficult, and sometimes ruthless, choices. Roles like this don’t come by often, and I feel fortunate to bring him to life. It’s not just another project for me; it’s an opportunity to reconnect with the audience and explore a character unlike any I’ve played before. I truly hope viewers connect with Jhende and the world of Tumm Se Tumm Tak, and continue to support me with the same warmth they always have.”
As Tumm Se Tumm Tak unfolds, viewers will be taken on a heartfelt journey through love, emotional turmoil, and the pressures of societal judgment. Will Anu and Aryavardhan’s unconventional love endure the test of time, family expectations, and internal conflicts?
