While Vyjayanthimala is a name to reckon with in the field of Bharatanatyam, Asha Parekh is a reputed Kathak dancer. The success stories of both were quite unconventional for the Hindi film world. While Vyjayanthimala was the first South Indian Actress to become a national star, Asha Parekh was the one of the first leading ladies from Gujarat to become a superstar. Both had a very successful innings in Bollywood. Another coincidence both share is their admiration for 101 Silver Screen Stars, Shemaroo’s offering to the industry on the completion of 100 years. The pack features both the divas along with 99 other stars, of yesterday and today. Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd recently presented the special 4 DVD pack to Vyjayanthimala and Asha Parekh. The living legends were not only glad to be part of the mini encyclopedia on actors who contributed to 100 years, but also were proud to be part of the industry. There were thrilled to see their exclusive segments and went into a flashback mode watching glimpses of their popular songs and reading interesting info about them. Vyjayanthimala termed the concept and content of 101 Silver Screen Product as exceptional and excellent on record. She also said that it is the first of its kind in video and in this field and was elated to say the least.
