Yes. It’s official. King Khan’s Chennai Express has beaten all other Hindi movies to enter the top five list of the highest grossing Hindi movies of all time. The latest figures coming in from UK suggest that the movie has crossed 2 million pounds in the UK market. And mind you, the movie is still running on full steam.
Also, a look at the top five list reveals an interesting thing. The four films ranked behind Chennai Express are My Name is Khan, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Veer-Zaara, all of which belong to Shahrukh.
Looks like Shahrukh has only himself to compete with in the international market. The only commercial viable Indian star internationally, we would say.
