Acclaimed Director Arvind Babbal to turn Producer with a thriller for Life OK

Arvind Babbal, the renowned Director who has laid the stepping stone by setting up quite a lot of successful shows on Indian Television will soon turn Producer. The man who has had a rocking career as a Director came into the limelight when he assisted Lekh Tandon in directing Kartavya for Zee TV. After a career spanning over 15 years with quite a lot of shows like Kumkum, Choti Maa, Viraasat, Jiya Jale, Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Shobha Somnath Ki to his credit, Babbal now plans to don the Producer’s hat for an upcoming show for Life OK. Recently, Babbal set up SLB Films' Saraswatichandra as the Director for Star Plus. A reliable source tells us that the genre which the Director is planning to produce right now, will be a thriller. The concept is huge, something that Indian television has not seen before. The channel and producer presently refer to this project by the title, ‘Mahakumbh’. When contacted, Arvind Babbal told us, “I will speak about this at the right time.” When buzzed Ajit Thakur, General Manager, Life OK, he said, “It’s too early to comment anything at this point of time.” This project in all likelihood will see its dawn early next year (2014).
