We were confident that Sanskaar will come back – Supriya Kumari

Supriya Kumari is very happy that her Colors show Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki is back after a break of just two weeks. “We are very excited. This is a gift from Ganapati Bappa. Sanskaar is a very sweet show. We also have a great unit, hence when the news first broke of it going off air, we were very sad. The last day of shooting was the toughest, for it is never easy to say good bye. Tougher when you get used to the set and people around you,” says Supriya who got noticed first with Bairi Piya, again a show on Colors. However Supriya maintains that, “We were confident that Sanskaar will come back as we were getting a lot of positive vibes. Luckily for us the bad news did not last long, for within a week we were informed that we will be back on air from 7th October, albeit at the 7 pm time slot.” Supriya also seen as Looteri Dulhan on Imagine TV does not feel that the early evening time slot might hurt the numbers of the show in its comeback avatar. “On the contrary I think numbers might grow; we were having very stiff competition at the super prime slot of 9 PM as Diya Aur Baati Hum has been airing for a while now.” “Colors has previously brought good shows at the 7pm slot like Jai Jag Janani Maa Durga and Havan etc. The time slot rocks as the trend has been set by Saath Nibhana Saathiya for the past four years. What works for this slot is that the audience in small towns which love our concept of Indian culture and values go to sleep early,” explains Supriya who had replaced Yashashri Masurkar as Bharati in Sanskaar. Here Supriya adds, “Actually fans were wondering why Sanskaar was being taken off air, as it was doing well. The level of drama played out in the show was also at its peak. All I could tell them then, was that it was being done to accommodate Bigg Boss. This was true for our ratings were slowly growing week on week.” In closing Supriya who is playing a negative avatar in the show is hopeful that the creatives will now make her positive, post the time slot change as viewers at this time band like everything sweet and sugary. “People already are so stressed out with their personal lives that they don’t want more tension.” All the best for the second innings of Sanskaar, Supriya!!
