It looks that television’s bad boys and girls are switching to comedy for an image changeover. Apart from Kamya Punjabi, it’s now bad guy Akashdeep Sehgal who will be seen in the second season of Comedy Circus.
Giving them company is veteran actress Apara Mehta. Apart from them there is Sayantani Ghosh (the Ichadhari Naaginn), the youngest member of the Indian hockey team in Chak De India, Komal Chautala (Chitrashi Rawat) and poet Shailesh Lodha.

The pairs for the second season are Apara Mehta-Shailesh Lodha, Krushna Abhishek-Sudesh Lahiri, Sayantani Ghosh-Kuldeep Dubey, Sucheta Khanna-Salim Afridi, Akashdeep Sehgal-Pervez Siddiqui, Kamya Punjabi-Rajiv Thakur, Rajesh Kumar-Rajeev Nigam and Chitrashi Rawat-Rehman Khan.
Dilip Joshi who was earlier paired with Sudesh Lahiri backed out due to prior commitments. Dilip says, “There was a change in their schedule which clashed with the dates for my other shows thus it was impossible for me to commit to them.”
The second season will again have Shruti Seth as the host. While Satish Shah and Archana Puran Singh have been retained as judges, it’s still unclear whether Johnny Lever will be there for the second season.
Comedy Circus 2 commences from 26th April at 10.pm on Sony.
