When Amitabh Bachchan got stuck inside an elevator with Mumbai's Top Cop

It’s not very easy to pin down the big man of Indian cinema -Amitabh Bachchan. But yesterday the exact thing happened at Rangsharda where Amitabh was present to release Mumbai Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh’s book 'Talaash Insaan Ki'. Amitabh along with several other dignitaries including Satyapal Singh had just entered the elevator from the first floor of the auditorium after finishing the book launch. As soon as it started descending to the ground floor, the elevator stopped mid-way leaving Amitabh and others stuck inside. This sent the police personnel into a tizzy who wasted no time in calling the fire brigade. Fortunately, the technical snag was immediately fixed by the auditorium’s mechanic and Amitabh and others were brought out safely in quick time even before the fire brigade arrived. Thankfully, the entire ordeal lasted for not more than a few minutes. Earlier in the evening while releasing Satyapal Singh’s book, Amitabh stressed on the importance of observing traffic rules. Said Amitabh, “While driving my car, I have on numerous occasions seen people disobeying traffic rules. I feel uncomfortable whenever I see people doing that.” The event was also graced by eminent poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar and state rural development minister Jayant Patil.
