Samiksha aka the original Zaara is on a roll but not on television. The ravishing actress has bagged a bilingual south flick which will be in Tamil and Telugu. Besides that she is also doing a Bollywood project. She hasn’t quit television but is not interested in doing any more saas-bahu sagas. “I want to put a stop to all tearjerkers as I think I have done enough of those,” she says. So what’s next after Zaara? “Well, I’m not doing anything on television currently. I have two films one down south and one in Bollywood. In Bollywood I’m doing a kid based film with a good banner. I can’t reveal anything more about the movies as the shooting is not yet started,” she avers. “I took Zaara as it was different but lately it started to go the tearjerker way so I preferred to back off. I can’t say that I did not enjoy my stint but now I have to choose my serials carefully,” she adds. Samiksha also received offers from both the Mahabharat versions. “I did receive offers from Balaji and Sagar Arts for the role of Draupadi and I even liked the role but due to other commitments I could not take up the shows,” she chirps. So are you taking a break from television? “No it’s not a break. If non saas-bahu serials come to me and I find the role interesting then I would definitely take the project. I took time out to try other media as doing television sometimes becomes monotonous. For now I’m happy with the kind of work I have in my kitty,” she concludes. With so many films under her belt we wonder whether she will have time left for the small screen.
