Walkwater Films recreate Abbottabad, the den of Osama Bin Laden, in Mumbai for sequel of Tere Bin Laden

Tere Bin Laden
Who can forget Abhishek Sharma who directed the political satire Tere Bin Laden that went on to become a sleeper hit? And we all know that going by the film’s popularity, Walkwater Films, the makers have already rolled out the sequel and titled it Tere Bin Laden 2. Now, with an added responsibility to make the sequel a much bigger hit, director Abhishek has re-created Pakistan in Mumbai to bring in more authenticity to the project. Accordingly, the production designer Wasiq Khan has re-created Abbottabad, the Pakistani district where Osama Bin Laden was found and killed by American Special Forces on 2 May, 2011. The set has been erected at Mumbai’s Film City and it is said that the production team did an extensive research to create the Pakistani suburb in Mumbai getting into specific details about the house and the environment. If that was not all, the makers have also used VFX technology to create a Black Hawk, a chopper used by the Navy SEALs that were used to drop down US troops for Laden's assassination. Recalls Abhishek, “As our reference point, we only had a rough sketch of the chopper which was leaked to the media by American officials. The film is a comic satire and does not look to offend anyone.” Starring Manish Paul, Sikandar Kher and Pradhuman Singh (who will reprise his role as the Osama look alike again), Tere Bin Laden 2 is scheduled to release sometime next year.
