TellyChakkar had earlier reported about Contiloe’s show for Zee tentatively titled Alah Udal but now we hear it’s finally titled Jai Somnath. The latest on the show is the producers have roped in veteran actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar for a key role.
A source reveals, “We were in two minds about the title initially and have finally decided on Jai Somnath. It is basically a story set in the 11th century in Somnath, Gujarat. The show will explore the times and the relationship between Raja Jai Singh and Mohammed Ghaznavi, the Rajput and the Mughal rulers respectively. We have finalized Sadashiv Amrapurkar for an important role. We will be shooting at Aamgaon yet again and the work for the same has already started.”
We called Amrapurkar to confirm our news but he refused to comment. He said, “I have been instructed by the production house not to say anything.”
He was last seen in shows like CID and Kulvadhu on Zee Marathi.
