MUMBAI : Actor Aditi Sharma is no stranger to trying new things, pushing boundaries, and stepping into roles that challenge her both as an actor and as a person. From playing a college girl in one show to experimenting with complex characters in others, she’s always been about stretching her limits. And now, in her latest role as Apollena in COLORS’ Apollena – Sapno Ki Unchi Udann, she’s taking her passion for exploring new roles to the next level—literally! As an astronaut, Aditi’s not just acting, she’s living her childhood dream. The show chronicles the journey of Apollena, a young woman determined to fulfill her father’s dream of reaching the stars, clear his name, and shed the tag of ‘gaddar ki beti’ by becoming India’s first female astronaut.
Talking about her experience of donning an astronaut suit, Aditi Sharma shares, "This character feels incredibly personal to me, it's not just acting, it’s like I'm channeling a part of my own dreams and journey. As a child, I would gaze at the stars, imagining myself among them. Playing Apollena is my way of living that dream. For me, she represents not only her own aspirations but also the dreams of countless girls who dare to chase the impossible."
Despite the physical challenges, Aditi finds immense joy and purpose in portraying Apollena. Her journey is one of determination, and she hope it inspires others to pursue their goals, no matter how impossible they might seem. She adds, "Bringing Apollena’s character to life has been an exciting yet challenging process for me. Adapting to the astronaut suit has been one of the most demanding aspects of the role. It’s heavy, restrictive, and not something you can get used to overnight. But each time I wear it, I feel closer to the dream".
