2013 - Bollywood stars who got married this year and those who didn't...

2013 was essentially a dry year in tinsel town as far as weddings are concerned with no biggie tying the knot this year. The only filmy weddings that happened this year were from the Bhatt family. While some other stars came perilously close to marrying, they finally shied away from walking down the aisle due to reasons best known to them. Tellychakkar.com looks first at the weddings that took place in the industry and those that could take place in 2014. Mohit Suri and Udita Goswami – For the uninitiated, Mohit Suri is the man who directed this year’s sleeper hit Aashiqui 2. Mohit, who also happens to be Mahesh Bhatt’s nephew, was in a relationship with actress Udita (of Zeher fame) for nine years before they both finally decided to tie the knot at Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple, in Mumbai on 29 January earlier this year. It was followed by a lavish reception thrown at Mahalakshmi race course where Bollywood biggies were seen in attendance. Vishesh Bhatt and Kanika Parab – It was wedding number two for the Bhatts clan this year. Another nephew of Mahesh Bhatt, Vishesh (director of Murder 3) married his long-time girlfriend Kanika Parab in the scenic Udaipur on 25 November. The Bhatts followed it up with a star-studded reception at a five-star in Mumbai. As usual, Bollywood and political bigwigs were in attendance. The couple is currently honeymooning in Paris. Couples who can get married next year: Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif – That they are dating is not a secret anymore. Even cousin sister Kareena couldn’t stop herself from teasing Ranbir about Katrina on Koffee with Karan. But try as you may, neither Ranbir nor Katrina will openly admit their feelings for each other. The buzz was very strong this year that the couple would get engaged but nothing has happened so far. Ranbir though did reveal on Koffee with Karan that he is looking to get married soon and Kareena promised to dance on Sheila ki Jawani at Ranbir’s wedding. Well may be 2014 could be that special year for Ranbir and Katrina. Kunal Khemu and Soha Ali Khan – Now that Soha is officially living in with Kunal, everyone thought the couple would announce their wedding soon this year. But there certainly doesn’t seem to be any hurry from both parties. When we last met Soha, we asked her about her marriage plans and this is what she said. “No plans as of now. We will let you know when we decide to get married. We are happy the way we are for the moment.” Well, looks like this couple wants to keep us guessing. John Abraham and Priya Runchal – Some reports suggested that the brawny John had already married his fiancée Priya. But as always, this unconfirmed piece of gossip died a natural death. Ever since John started dating Priya, there has been an increasing clamour about his impending marriage. John, who was earlier in a committed relation with Bipasha Basu, surprised the entire industry with his splitsville. But soon enough, he found love in the arms of investment banker Priya. With age fast catching up with John, we feel, he should soon take the plunge next year, that is if he already secretly hasn’t. Aftab Shivdasani and Nin Dusanj - Aftab and Nin have been seeing each other for quite a while now and he is in fact officially engaged to her. Nin lives with Aftab at his pad in Bandra and is today seen walking hand-in-hand with her beau at all soirees that Aftab attends. Post the success of Grand Masti, Nin has come more into reckoning owing to the increased appearance of Aftab at events. We feel after Aftab’s long found success, he may well tie the knot next year. Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukherjee – Now no one knows if Rani is married to the always invisible Czar of Bollywood, Aditya Chopra. Once in a while, we keep on hearing stories of the couple being spotted in London which seems to be the favourite holidaying destination of the entire Bollywood. Though there has never been a buzz about this couple getting married ever, we feel given Rani’s fledgling career she may perhaps take a call and get hitched to the YRF boss. Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra – Again, no one knows their status. Geeta is always present with Harbhajan at every well-heeled party that he attends. Like other celebs, Geeta and Harbhajan too, have maintained a steadfast silence about their relationship status. Of course, we know they are not just holding hands. So will they get hitched in 2014 now? Now that question is like a googly which only Harbhajan can answer.
