Thanks to Aditya Chopra, who forsake the title Tevar to Boney Kapoor, the latter has launched a film by the same name that would star his star son Arjun Kapoor.
It so happened that Kapoor wanted the title Tevar, which he realised was a YRF property as the name was Yash Chopra’s favourite. And when Arjun told Aditya that they were keen to name the film Tevar, he decided to forsake the title without any hassles.
The film, which is the remake of the Telugu action film Okkadu will be directed by debutante Amit Sharma and would star Sonakshi Sinha in the female lead.
Okkadu is a tale a kabbadi player who rescues a young woman from an unwanted marriage and hides her in his home. Events that follow form the crux of the movie.
The film will have Arjun playing a regular college kid from Agra who would be a kabaddi champion.
The remake is set to roll from January (2014).
