Avinash Sachdev is quite happy with the progress of his Star Plus show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon-Ek Baar Phir.
“Many people of my cast and crew were disappointed with the early evening 6 pm slot. As for me, I don’t believe in slots but do feel that it is the story that counts. And by God’s grace I have been lucky for after a slow start, the story is beginning to pick up and now I am being credited as a slot builder. I was also called by the same name when Choti Bahu first started years ago on Zee TV and went on to create history,” remarks Avinash.
Ask about the title and he replies, “It was a unique situation for we were making part two of a show in which the main actors were totally different. For earlier, no one could have thought of making Choti Bahu without Rubina Dilaik. I took a lot of flak for coming in place of Barun Sobti; was abused openly on Twitter when fans started asking me how I could dare to replace Barun? But back then I did not respond and neither will I do so now. I sincerely believe that my work is the best reply,” adds Avinash.
“Now the same audience is saying they are glad that I am playing Shlok Agnihotri. Here I will want to admit that I took a lot of pain to ensure that my above named character looks different from Barun and hope I have succeeded in entertaining the audience giving them what they want.”
Avinash is quite happy with his khatti meethi on-screen chemistry with Shrenu Parikh. “She is an easy going girl who does not have the air normally associated with the leads of daily soaps. This makes working with her a breezy affair,” Avinash observes.
Finally, when we ask him as to how long with this show last given its time slot, he a promptly answers, “I don’t think so much of the future. Whatever has to happen will happen. I am just concentrating on today and putting in a hundred per cent input.”
Well said, Avinash!!!
