I believe each one of us must do our bit towards nation building: Rafi Malik

Rafi Malik
Rafi Malik, who plays a budding scion of an out of power political family in Desh Ki Beti Nandini being currently show on Sony Entertainment Television, isn’t very happy on the current scenario of the nation. “Things are quite dark at the moment. We need big changes. Firstly, we need to provide security to women to move safely at any time of the day. This sh**of rape and molestation must end as soon as possible,” he avers. He also feels that two big handicaps hampering national growth are population and corruption. “Thanks to illiteracy and the lack of sex education, people in rural areas don’t understand the importance of family planning. They believe that more kids mean more hands. However at the end of the day, they are not able to provide their own children even two square meals a day. This situation forces them to resort to dishonest means to eke out a living. Similarly the number of grafts happening in the country is also pulling down levels of productivity and that is having reverse cascading effect on the cost of living,” he adds. This former cricketer turned model cum actor does not subscribe to China’s model of one child per family as a solution to India’s population woes. “For their law states that the second child will be compulsory drafted to the PLA (Chinese Army). Back home such a law will only encourage people to have more kids as they will feel that the state will bear the responsibility of the second child,” Rafi observes. “However rather than giving tall sermons, I believe each one of us must do our bit towards nation building. Whenever I make a mistake I try to make amends," claims this very proud Indian. Finally, taking about Desh Ki Beti Nandini, Rafi denies that his character (Rajveer Raghuvanshi) has any similarity with Rahul Gandhi. “This is a purely fictitious show. Also we don’t have information about the private lives of national leaders,” he maintains. Wise words, Rafi…impressive!!!
