Vijay Badlani to essay Chandrashekhar Azad in a play

Vijay Badlani
Actor Vijay Badlani is away from television space but that does not mean he is cooling his heels in some exotic beach in Goa. Given his committed nature, he is keeping himself busy by being a part of theater. Yes, the actor who was last seen in Zee TV’s Jodha Akbar as Tansen and in BIG Magic’s Kis Din Mera Viyah Hovega had taken a break from theater for six months due to his daily soap projects. However, now that Kis Din… has gone off-air he has got back to the stage. This particular play is based on Shahid Bhagat Singh’s life and though his story has been showcased in films a couple of times Vijay believes this play will be different. “There are a lot of hidden facts about Bhagat Singh that were never revealed with the fear of hurting sentiments but we will be showcasing the truth,” said Vijay. He will be essaying the character of Chandrashekhar Azad. Theater artist Lokesh Nalwa will be seen as Bhagat Singh. The play has been written by Mustaq Ahmed and directed by Mujeeb Khan. It begins staging from tomorrow (14 January 2013).
