Academically, though the dashing and smart looking Vibhav Roy did his graduation in accounts, he chose acting as his career.
In a conversation with Tellychakkar.com, the actor, who debuted with Gustakh Dil, speaks about his journey in this industry and how the acting bug bit him.
Avers Vibhav, “Right from the time I was in college, I dreamt of becoming an actor. However my father pushed me towards studying further and I completed my graduation. His argument was that as this industry is not conventional and the profession does not assure security of work, I should finish my graduation.
Accordingly I completed my CPA, worked with IBM for three years and came to Mumbai last year.”
Vibhav reveals that after a lot of hunting around he was finally called over by Ravi Ojha Productions for an audition and was finalized for Gustakh Dil. “It is the beautiful learning experience acting with senior actors such as Sana Amin Sheikh and Meghna Malik amongst the others that made me grow as an actor,” he adds.
“Living here and getting work has been challenging for me as I am not Al Pacino or Shah Rukh Khan that I would get work the minute I audition. I am just happy to have got to work in Mumbai,” he observes.
Ask him about his experience on the sets of Gustakh Dil, he states, “I am enjoying shooting and I must say that Sana (Sheikh) is a great support and she takes care of me like a mother on the sets.”
Vibhav finds it fascinating to essay a role of a depressed lover a la Devdas. “I find the idea very noble and euphoric. I would want to essay such a character in future too.
However if I am asked to choose a character, I would like to play Mahadev. I wish I had the anatomy like Mohit Raina to play Mahadev since I am called Kangri Pehelwan by my Creative Director Madhura Rapsang on the sets,” Vibhav ends.
