Shah Rukh Khan to romance Sonam Kapoor in Excel Entertainment's Raees

Call it a fancy or call it grooming, these days our ‘A’ list actors are starring opposite relatively young actresses in their films. Take the case of Jai Ho, in which Salman Khan chose to star opposite newcomer Daisy Shah. In the same pattern, Shah Rukh Khan (SRK), who along with Deepika Padukone gave last year’s super duper hit Chennai Express, has chosen to star with Sonam Kapoor in Raees. This has been confirmed by producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’ Excel Entertainment in a statement, “Sonam Kapoor will be seen romancing the King Khan for the first time.” Apart from this new pair, the film will also have SRK in a completely new look along with Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actor Farhan Akhtar who will play a prominent role in the film. The film to be directed by Rahul Dholakia will have SRK in the role of a bootlegger while Farhan will be seen playing a cop. Here it may be noted that earlier SRK and Farhan Akhar had worked together in Don and Don 2, but the difference is that in the two blockbuster had Farhan behind the camera while in Raees he will share screen space with the noted actor. Raees is slated for 2015 Eid release.
