Known for having dished music in films like Sarkar, Sarkar Raj and Khosla Ka Ghosla among others, music composer duo Bapi-Tutul has bagged the Golden Pegasus for best original score at the 4th Peloponnesian International Film Festival.
The award in mention has been given for their music in Veena Bakshi’s Naseeruddin Shah-starrer The Coffin Maker.
Observed Bapi-Tutul, “Before composing music we always keep in mind the movie’s story. It required a special Konkani music and Hema Sardesai did a wonderful job. We are extremely happy about winning an award at an international platform.”
The Coffin Maker is all about Anton Gomes who comes from a family of accomplished carpenters and takes up to coffin making when difficult circumstances render him jobless and penniless.
Incidentally, The Coffin Maker was a clear favorite at the festival and won as many as five awards including the Golden Pegasus for best film. And for the music composer duo it was a huge appreciation that came their way.
Pegasus awards are presented at the Ohio Valley Film Festival (OVFF Fest) to recognize and honor excellence in filmmaking.
