Javed Akhtar's patriotic song for CRPF to be unveiled by Pranab Mukherjee on 28 February

On the occasion of the 75th year of raising of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar has penned a patriotic song for the country's largest paramilitary force. The song has been composed by Raju Singh while it has been sung by Javed Ali. The five-minute song 'Hum hain desh ke rakshak' will be unveiled by President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on 28 February. Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and other officials of the Home Ministry will also be present at the event. On that day Mukherjee will also honour the gallantry award winners of the force which is the mainstay for anti-Naxal operations in the country. It is said that Akhtar was approached to pen the song after the idea to create an anthem for the force was mooted by CRPF DG Dilip Trivedi. Here it must be informed that last year Akhtar wrote a song for another central paramilitary force CISF.
