Aamir Khan is one of those rare actors in Bollywood who has never shied from openly expressing his thoughts on issues, both social and political in nature. But not when it comes to his friend and co-star Sanjay Dutt. Sanjay's repeated parole leaves have whipped up a storm in the country with the Bombay High Court strictly coming down on the state government for being apparently lenient towards the actor and granting him consecutive paroles which other common prisoners can never dream about.
When we asked if truth alone had triumphed in Sanjay Dutt's case, Aamir opted for a much diplomatic route. Here is what the actor said.
“I don't think it is right for me to comment on this matter for a number of reasons. One being, I am totally unaware of what the case is. I am sure that there are certain rules, regulations and laws that prisons follow. I am assuming that they follow the same for everyone and if something has not been followed, then whichever officer is responsible, not in Sanju's case but in general, must be pulled up and right action should be taken against them. Nobody is above the law. I don't know anything about Sanju's case. How many days of parole he has been granted or how they have been. So it won't be right for me to comment.”
Yesterday, at an event even Amitabh Bachchan too, refused to comment on Sanjay Dutt's parole. Well, looks like at times, 'No Comment' is the best comment for Bollywood actors, especially in Sanjay's case.
Aamir also refused to comment on whether Sanjay has finished dubbing for P.K. "Ask Raju(Hirani) about it," was Aamir's terse response.
