There is an actor in every human being

Aksshat Gupta
A page from the personal diary of Aksshat Gupta I think that acting is something which cannot be taught, it’s an inborn art. Though an actor lies in every human being, there is a need to bring him out. If someone has succeeded to meet the artiste in him then he can easily polish himself through an external process like an acting class. I wanted to become an actor since my childhood because I knew that God had blessed me with this art. But I faced some problems that not only matured me but also taught me a lesson to live life. After Class 12 I decided to go to National School of Drama to learn every bit of acting but some how things did not work out. But I was fortunate enough to work with those teachers who had been teaching at NSD. I started with very famous ‘Bappi Boss’ (Seema Biswas’s husband) and I still remember my first play with him. Since I was from an English medium school, some actors thought that I would have be having a problem with my Hindi and Urdu pronunciation while doing the play but ‘Bappi Boss’ had faith in me. When the play started, I was fully prepared and I didn’t forget any lines and I didn’t make any grammatical or pronunciation errors which even some of the renowned actors had made. My guru Bappi Boss was very happy and it was then that I realised that nothing is impossible if you have faith in God and if you believe in yourself. Then I moved on to Mandi acting school. Surprisingly one day I got a call from NSD and I was called to give an audition. It was the most unforgettable day of my life. Everyone liked my audition and I got selected amongst thousands of applicants. But I was shattered when officials told me that though they were impressed by my acting, they weren’t able to take me in that year’s batch because the seats were full. But they assured me of an admission in the next year’s batch. But I was not ready to wait for one more year so I headed to Mumbai. After giving some auditions for some television serials, I was selected to play an important character in Mamta and then I continuously tried to give my best and by God’s grace shows were falling in my lap. After then I got to play a very important character in Star Plus Grihasthi that gave me the recognition that I always wanted. I was also doing advertisements so I got an opportunity to do an ad which Fardeen Khan had denied since his father wasn’t well. This advertisement gave me a good platform but I wanted to do some thing different, something grey. So I was given a ticket to Sony’s Palampur Express. I have learned many things from life but the most important lesson is that if you have talent it will show.
