Sadiya Siddiqui and Abhishek Tewari in Bindass' Yeh Hai Aashiqui

Sadiya Siddiqui and Abhishek Tewari
Abhishek Tewari, of Balika Vadhu and Chand Chupa Badal Mein fame, and Sadiya Siddiqui (who currently entertains the audience through her stint as Rajmata in the Colors’ show Rangrasiya) will now be seen in Bindass’ Yeh Hai Aashiqui. Jointly produced by Lost Boy Productions and BBC Worldwide Productions, the show will present an interesting love story, a case of alluring an older woman. Sadiya will play mother to a son who (the son) would be about to get married. The groom’s friend, played by Abhishek, will advise him to invite his mother too for the marriage ceremony, but he will bluntly refuse and will talk negative about how he hates her. His friend will further explain the significance of a mother in a person’s life and will convince his friend to invite his mother. However, on his refusal to invite her over, the latter will proceed towards inviting her for the marriage ceremony. Sadiya, will be introduced in a chic avatar, working in an NGO for old people. She will express her fears and reasons behind her reticence. The friend (Abhishek) will empathize with her and this will eventually lead to him falling in love with his friend’s mother (played by Sadiya). She however, will refrain from responding to any of his advances. Falling in love with an older woman is traditionally not accepted in India. The story hence would leave a question on whether this wonderful couple will find acceptance for their love from the society or not. We contacted Sadiya who confirmed being a part of the show. She said, “I am really excited to shoot with the team of Yeh Hai Aashiqui. When I was approached, the director guaranteed me that it would be an experience worth cherishing. Also, the show is very unique in terms of its creativity. They have attempted doing something out of the tried and tested formulae and it is working wonders for them.” Abhishek continued, “I have lately done some short films and one English film. I picked up this role because I knew that I would be experiencing shooting for a film on television. Also, the character was defined and I was sure I could give some quality performance through this role. I would love acting in daily soaps too, but only as a lead.” We anxiously wait for this beautiful romance to unfold next week!!!
