The amazingly talented choreographer Remo D’souza, who has enthralled viewers with his performances, choreography and obviously judging on various dance shows, has once again geared up to grill contestants in the seventh season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (BBC Worldwide Media) on Colors.
Talking to the media at the launch event, Remo said, “This is my fourth season with the show and I am super excited about it. It’s always great to see some breath-taking performances and of course to share the judges’ chair with Madhuri (Dixit) and Karan (Johar). Also I would really want to see what new the choreographers have for us this season.”
The ever stylish man has also been given a new look this season and speaking on that he shared, “The creatives decided on it and I thought it would be a great change. The suited-up clothes do not really go with my character. This new casual and stylish clothing is more comfortable and more like me.”
So how much of input did he give the designers? “I let my designers do their work, but yes I did discuss about the clothes with them. Also if I did not like anything I chose to use my personal stuffs too. I have always added a bit of my own accessories, shoes and clothes for the final look,” he admitted.
This season is going to see a lot of western dance forms, what is his take on it, we wondered. “I am all the more excited about this season as there will be loads of western dance forms which I have been practicing for years. We always tell the contestants to better their performances but they don’t listen to us, so we have made it compulsory for them to be alag this time,” said Remo.
He further added, “We will also be stricter this time so that they excel every week even if it’s through pressure. Also being an honest and straight forward person, I am blunt and hence I may sound rude and strict but when it comes to dance I just cannot let the standard get low.”
And finally when we asked about viewers getting to see Remo on stage, he smiled and said, “Definitely there will performances, although I don’t know when it will be happening and what I will be doing. But I can assure you that it will surely be a 'alag' performance (smiles).”
Best of luck, Remo!
