MUMBAI: Television actor Gaurav Amlani, known for his commendable performances and growing fanbase, has steadily carved a niche for himself in the entertainment industry. Having been a part of several acclaimed serials, Gaurav continues to win hearts with his talent and grounded persona.
In an exclusive chat with TellyChakkar, the actor candidly spoke about one of the roles that didn’t come his way — a part in Ekta Kapoor’s hugely popular supernatural franchise, Naagin. Reflecting on the experience, Gaurav revealed that although he auditioned for the show a few years ago, things ultimately didn’t materialise.
“It happens quite often,” Gaurav admitted. “I had auditioned for Naagin, though I can’t recall which season it was—perhaps two or three years ago. I genuinely enjoyed the audition process. Once it was done, I detached myself from the outcome. My father is my guru, and he’s always taught me that if I’ve given my best, I shouldn’t worry too much about the result. I leave the rest to destiny.”

He further shared his thoughts on dealing with rejection and maintaining perspective as an actor. “I only feel disappointed when I know I haven’t given my best. Sometimes when you’re shooting an audition from home, the environment doesn’t allow you to perform at your optimum. But whether I record it myself or go to a studio, I focus on doing the best I can in the given circumstances—and once it’s done, I move on.”
Gaurav also mentioned that he never received a call from Balaji Telefilms after that audition, and someone else was likely selected for the role. “In the beginning, I used to be quite curious about who eventually got cast, but now I don’t dwell on it. It’s not something I concern myself with anymore,” he added.
His approach reflects a mature and balanced outlook—one that many aspiring actors can take inspiration from. The television industry is known for its unpredictability, and Gaurav’s journey is a reminder that perseverance and faith in the process are key to long-term success.
While he may have missed out on Naagin, there's no doubt that Gaurav Amlani’s talent will continue to land him roles that are destined to be his.
