Drashti played a pivotal role in making me agree to participate in Jhalak - Karan Tacker

Karan Tacker
The lover boy Karan Tacker who has won million hearts with his shows Rang Badalti Odhani, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai and Halla Bol, has also managed to strike a chord with the audience with his stint as a dancer on the stage of Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (BBC Worldwide Media). Here we bring to you an excerpt from a candid conversation that we had with the hot and sexy young man at the launch of the show sometime back. “I am so excited about the show and it’s completely a never felt emotion for me. I actually feel like a young bride on a doli who doesn’t know whether I should be laughing or crying. There is so much going on in my mind and I really don’t know how to express it,” said a smiling Karan. Being a not so good dancer, the actor shared, “I am actually worried and nervous about what is going to happen as the competition starts flowing. I don’t even have an idea of all the dance forms and there is also a bit of problem with my body. If my legs are moving, my hands don’t move and vice versa (laughs). I guess moving the whole body will be a bit of a problem for me.” The show will also have lots of international dance forms, so which one is giving him a nightmare, we wondered. “I didn’t even know that apart from Salsa there are more Latin dance forms; so basically all of them are giving me nightmares. I also don’t basically understand why these dances have us passionately touching ourselves rather than our partner (winks). With the judges deciding on being extra strict this season, Karan had his take on the same. “I think it’s my bad luck that I have come in on the most difficult season of the show. The judges are extra strict; an international choreographer is there as a judge and all kinds of impossible dance forms are to be performed. It seems the makers have put us in a juicer and switched on the double grinder machine,” laughed the man. The actor had always maintained that he does not want to do a reality show, so we asked him what made him change his mind. “I think till now nobody had approached me so lovingly, that I just could not refuse. The channel had wanted me to do Khatron Ke Khiladi which I really wanted to do, but could not as I had my commitment with Halla Bol. When JDJ was offered I thought I should give it a try,” he shared. Karan further added, “Drashti has played a pivotal role in making me agree to the project, as I discussed the offer with her quite deeply. Also my mom had always asked why I never take part in such shows, so yes, I somewhere also wanted to make her happy.” And finally when we questioned whether he feels his popularity will help him win the show, the actor smiled, “Of course being a TV star I know people love me but rather than just love I would want my fans to also vote for me feeling that I deserve to be in the competition. I want my fans to be proud of me.” We are sure they will be, Karan!
