MUMBAI: Ghajini, starring Aamir Khan, Jiah Khan and Asin was a 2008 Hindi remake of the Tamil movie with the same name, starring Suriya, Asin and Nayanthara. Both the movies, directed by AR Murugadoss, became superhit. However, the Hindi remake achieved greater success with an amazing box-office collection.
According to Koimoi, in an interview, while Suriya was promoting his movie Kanguva, he hinted at Ghajini sequel, mentioning that the discussions for a sequel are underway and that the movie will be a bilingual Hindi-Tamil movie.
This means, Suriya will reprise his role in the Tami-language sequel movie while in Hindi, Aamir Khan will play the lead. What makes this idea more exciting is that both Aamir Khan and Suriya might enter each other’s versions. AR Murugadoss is working on Ghajini 2 but other than that, he is also working on a Sivakarthikeyan starre and a Salman Khan starrer titled Sikandar which is going to be the director’s comeback into Hindi cinema.
Since there is no official announcement of Ghajini 2, we will have to wait to know about the changes in storyline, more actors in the cast and much more.
When talking about Suriya, the actor is all set for his upcoming movie Kanguva. He has also finished shooting for Suriya 44 which is directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Suriya 44 is said to be an action-romantic movie featuring Pooja Hegde as the female lead. The cast of the movie also includes Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, and Sujith Shankar.
